Let It Rain In The Calvary

Since I am English, I am fully prepared to expect the next few months of outfit posts to contain an umbrella or a very wet floor, ha ha. It always seems like we get a constant supply of rain from January for a very long time. I am very used to the rain and I don’t mind it, but it does get annoying after a while.

I’m wearing Paige Denim Verdugo Calvary Jeggings in Felix, my Topshop Black PU leather jacket, a Topshop grey vest top, my Topshop Salma Black Heels, a River Island pink scarf, a River Island pink umbrella and an Accessorize Panda ring.

I got these jeans from Trilogy and they are exclusive to them over here. They are so cute! I love the black denim panels on them. The panda ring is also another thing I am in love with. My boyfriend spotted it when we went shopping a couple of weeks ago and it’s so adorable! 😀

I have a few more giveaways lined up for the next couple of months so I can’t wait to share those with you. Thank you to everyone who entered the 7 For All Mankind sunglasses one and I want to say welcome to all of my new followers. I’ve had a big increase this month, so far, of new readers so I hope you like Raindrops of Sapphire as much as I like blogging 🙂

Hi Lorna, firstly, my fiancee loves your blog and checks almost daily for your updates, but it’s me who has a question for you. My partner, like you, is a great fan of Christian Louboutin shoes and she has 2 or 3 pairs but she never wears them!!!! I think she looks great in them but she contiually says she doesn’t want to get caught out in the rain with them. As they are made of patent material stuff, will the rain ruin them?

    • January 19, 2011 / 11:31 pm

Hi Mark 🙂 Tell her thank you ! And she’s allowed to be fussy because they are SO expensive lol. If hers are patent then a few specks of rain wont ruin them really, I’ve had some light rain on mine and they are ok, I wouldn’t recommend wearing them in heavy rain and also, if the floor is too wet the red soles tend to disappear really quickly, if it’s too wet it can even peel off. I understand her concern though, I wouldn’t wear mine out for months when I first got them, I was so nervous. Shoes are like babies to women haha, so precious! She will eventually wear them out, how long has she had them? And congrats on the wedding! 😀

What can I say? Perfection?! Yes, it gets a bit tedious mabye, but I have no other word. Love the “details” on the legs, and as always, love the pockets on Paiges. And the shoes Lorna, I want those shoes!!! 🙂

Thanks Jenny 🙂 That’s really kind of you!

Thanks for your reply Lorna. 🙂 I think her oldest pair are about 6 months old and I never even thought about the price till the bank statement came through lol!!! Not that I grudge the cost as her shoes are cheaper than my golf equipment!!!! It’s the buy something and don’t use it scenario that gets me lol!!! If she gets rained on and they get ruined, buy another pair!!! Simples lol 😉

    • January 20, 2011 / 4:16 pm

Lol!! Well if you are buying them for her then tell her that! Unless she can afford another pair easily. Can she walk in them ok? I know Louboutins take some effort to walk in, they can be pretty tough. Women and shoes though, it’s like a fascination, we love shoes. I’ve known some people buy a pair of shoes even if it’s not their size, just because they are so pretty and they want to look at them lol.

She can walk in them fine, a well seasoned ‘high heeler’ lol!! She could probably climb a mountain in them hahaha!! Maybe I should buy her a couple of picture frames for them 😉

    • January 20, 2011 / 4:46 pm

In that case she should definitely wear them out! Try and persuade her 😀 And lol about the picture frames, I need to get some of those ha ha!

Hi Lorna, just stumbled across your blog and I love it!!! You look simply stunning!!!! I also have an answer for Mark above regarding his partner’s louboutins. She should always wear them!!! As for the rain, well, I was unfortunate enough to get caught in a real downpour with my louboutins. It was so heavy that you couldn’t tell what was a puddle and what was pavement. They were absolutely waterlogged and took 2 days to dry!!! As they were patent, the outside of the shoe looks as good as new but there are watermarks on the inside of them. They are definately not ruined!!!!! I couldn’t say the same if they were suede or satin though lol!!! I hate getting my shoes and feet soaked 🙁 And my hair 🙁

    • January 21, 2011 / 10:57 pm

Hi Kerrie! I’m glad you like my blog 🙂 Thank you so much! And I’m sorry you got caught in the rain with your Louboutins! That’s awful! Which ones were they?

They are black pigalle 120’s. They are so comfortable when you get used to them as, like you said, Louboutins can take some effort to walk in lol!!! Not very comfortable when full of water though!!! But they do say that it’s easier to ‘break-in’ a wet shoe than a dry shoe however I think Louboutins are just too classy and expensive to go playing in water with 🙂 🙂

    • January 23, 2011 / 1:12 am

Oh wow!! You can do the 120 Pigalles? That’s definitely amazing! I can’t do those at all. They are just too high! And yes, CL’s are way to expensive to be getting soaking wet! 😀

Thanks for your comments =) I read & reply every one =)
