Fashion Week Spring 2013 – Mulberry, Burberry & Marc by Marc Jacobs

I didn’t see much point in posting loads of different fashion week posts, purely because every other blogger is covering it and we all go to the brands websites or magazines to see the shows images. What I wanted to do was just pile my favourite looks together from my favourite shows that have walked so far. This includes Mulberry, Marc by Marc Jacobs and suprisingly Burberry. I have never really been a fan of Burberry, purely because living here in England it has a bit of a stigma to it, but the Spring/Summer 2013 show was my favourite fashion week show that I have ever seen! It was incredible!

I can’t say that I have been a fan of many of the other shows as a whole. There have been a couple of looks I liked here and there, but in terms of a full collection, these three are my favourites. You may think I am a bit biased since Marc Jacobs and Mulberry are two of my most adored brands, but there is a reason for that – I literally love most of the things they design, so it makes sense. I didn’t really like much from the actual Marc Jacobs line though, just his Marc by Marc Jacobs collection. So, if you click this post you can see my favourite looks from the three shows and my thoughts on them!

Burberry Spring/Summer 2013

As I mentioned above, this show was the best I have ever seen! My favourite was the finale where everyone came out in an ombre rainbow of metallic trench coats! The pink was obviously my favourite, followed by the purple. I think Burberry make some amazing trench coats, however these ones retail at almost £2,000 so that’s out of the question, ha ha!

The other looks they had, especially the taupes, creams and browns, were so classic and pretty. I also loved the lace, the peplum and the incredible bright colours all around. I can say that I have never seen a show as beautiful as this one and I think many people will agree with me that it was gorgeous! Usually I love Betsey Johnson for her fun inspiring brights, but Burberry did it in such a classic way, don’t you think?

Mulberry Spring/Summer 2013

Now Mulberry, you know I love the brand, and I thought the spring garden party theme they had going on was so fresh and cute! I loved the mints with the pastel oranges, but I also liked the tapestry style prints and classic black shades. Plus, the poodle was so adorable! I loved the fact the model walking him was smiling and chatting to him as well. The one thing that did disappoint me was not seeing many of their classic bags on the runway, I missed seeing the Lily’s and Bayswaters in their classic colours, but I know they will put those in the coming soon section of their website at some point!

Marc by Marc Jacobs Spring/Summer 2013

And now for the bags I love from the show:

Now this Marc by Marc Jacobs show was so bright and definitely screamed Spring! I loved it! My favourites were the incredibly bright scarves and bright dresses, but I adored the cute little bags! Especially the pink cross body with the clear plastic, however I don’t really like having a clear bag so you can see what I’m carrying, it’s not a great idea. The check small box bags are amazing though! I can’t wait until they come out! The best part for me though is I could wear so many of these pieces, especially the sweaters and knits, I just love bright colours so much. Don’t you think it’s fun and bold?

I always seem to forget exactly how much I adore Mulberry. I always let that name, and Burberry as well, romanticize my (though some time ago) English roots. Funny how certain fashions let us connect to heritage a bit more. That or I just want to find any excuse to nab a metallic trench and a pair of those strappy sparkly sandals!!

They are definitely very English brands, that’s probably why I like them so much since I have English style I suppose!

Colours popping everywhere! Absolutely stunning and the shoes too, seems like the pumps and straps are a constant. =)
