It’s Wellington Boots Time!

joules-ribbon-wellies

I finally have wellingtons! Two pairs to be exact! I have a pair of Joule’s, their women’s wellies which are black with purple ribbon at the back. They are so unique and pretty, they definitely suit my style so I am really excited that I was able to choose this pair, thank you to Joules for that! I have already planned some outfits for these so the ribbon is really going to pop!

And the second pair I have are some new Hunter Original Tall Wellies in navy with some purple cable knit socks! They are really warm and I love the pop of purple over them. I chose navy gloss as I thought it would go with most of my jeans, since the majority of them are different shades of blue! So thank you to Hunter for letting me choose this pair, they are going to be very versatile.

I can’t believe I waited so long to own a pair of wellies actually. I had them as a child, but I never bought any more once I out grew them. They are just what I need to face the constant rain and wet conditions we have here in England! I was mostly worried that they wouldn’t fit me in the calf area though as I have very small calves, but these two are fine, especially when worn with socks. I can’t wait to wear them and share my outfits with you! Which pair do you like the most?

I think I’m the only one that doesn’t really get the whole fuss about wellies haha but I quite likes these, maybe because of the bows and the purple socks! They do keep your feel dry, that’s a plus…and with jeans I think they would look good, I just don’t like seeing people wearing them with skirts and dresses…find it weird xD

I also always have problems buying any type of high boots because of my calves, but in my case they’re the boots are always too narrow…

Both of them look great! Which ones are taller? The Joule’s look like they might be but that might just be the socks!

I do love Hunters so I’m going to say that they’re my favorite pair for now but I’d love to see if I change my mind once you start showing some outfits with the two of them!

I think they are around the same height actually, they felt pretty similar in height. I just checked though and the Joules ones are about 1cm higher than the Hunter. An outfit post with the first ones will be next week!

Hi Lorna! I love the Hunters! I’ve had my pair for years now, since 2005 and I garden in them and everything! They’re such good quality. I love those socks. I think I’ll have to get some!!! 🙂

Wow Lorna those joules wellies are beautiful!!! Very very close second to the hunters, only because i think the hunter logo and boot strap look much cuter. The pink ribbon is a great pop to the boots, a pink top would be very cute with those, you really should do an outfit post with these they look marvelous

I wore an outfit already, if you put a search for country girl at heart on my blog, you can see the outfit. It’s full of pink!

  19. February 9, 2014 / 12:40 am

i LOVE the joule boots with the pink bow! i know this post is over a year old but do you know where I might be able to find them? I live in the U.S. 🙁

  20. September 2, 2015 / 1:23 am

    Hey Lorna!

    Hope all is well 🙂

Sorry to be commenting on an old post but I wanted to ask what you think of the Joules sizing? Did you stick to your normal shoe size or go a size up? Looking to buy my first pair of wellies this year! 🙂

Hey Saba 🙂 YAY for wellies! Are you looking to get a pair of Joule’s then? I find the Hunter boot shape is much slimmer and more flattering, so I don’t wear my Joule’s ones as much, but they are pretty with the ribbon that’s for sure. I took size 6 in the Joule’s and I’m a 6 in the Hunters. My general shoe size is a 6/7, depending on brand. I would say though that if you need to wear socks with them, go with your bigger size. It’s always better to go up in wellies so they can be worn with thick socks a your feet can get cold, I have a pair in a 7 for that reason 🙂

      • September 3, 2015 / 3:45 pm

Thanks Lorna! That’s really helpful! I don’t have slim feet so maybe the Joules will look better anyway 😉 I’ll order the Evedon and see how they turn out. So excited to finally join the trend. Do you find that Joules / Hunters have a difference in life span? xxx

I couldn’t answer that one actually, I’ve not had any of my wellies break on me or give out, and I’ve not worn the Joules long enough to know. I think you would really have to wear them hard, daily for them to break! 🙂

          • September 3, 2015 / 4:23 pm

hehe well that’s a good sign that they haven’t broken on you! I’ve ordered the black Joules Evedon *fingers crossed*.

How’ve you been? I do still follow your trends – seems like you’re doing great which is wonderful to see!
