I thought it might be nice to put together a list of my favourite places in my city of Bath. A lot of fashion bloggers are from the main cities, London especially, but as you already know, I’m from the countryside. Bath is one of the only few world heritage cities left in the world and I am very proud to have been born here. Bath is located in the South West of England, near Bristol, and I’ve lived in Bath my entire life. I couldn’t see myself living anywhere else!
I’m lucky enough to have views of beautiful fields and landscape from my windows and I definitely enjoy the peace and quiet that living in the countryside brings. Bath does have a town, it’s not as great as most other towns, but we do have quite a lot of really nice shops now and specialty boutiques, and although I have a lot of favourite restaurants that I eat at regularly, I have only chosen those exclusive to Bath, so you can’t find them anywhere else. Also, since I am a true country girl and one that loves to sight see, most of the places I have included are absolutely free and you can enjoy the nature or sights from them. Have any of you ever visited Bath?
The Golden Fields
One of my favourite places that I go to in the summer time is not too far from my home. I call it the Golden Fields because there is a place where you can sit on a bench and just admire the views of the fields. During the summer time this field is full of wheat so that’s why it’s that beautiful golden colour. The Golden Fields are no where near roads and no where near people, so it’s completely silent and so beautiful. It’s a place that I love to go to relax, wind down and just enjoy nature at its best. I often see rabbits in the wheat, running around, and birds flying from the trees. It’s so peaceful and relaxing.
The Real Italian Pizza Co. & The Real Italian Ice Cream Co.
Pizza is one of my favourite foods and I have tried numerous ones in the past, even actual Italian pizzas in Italy itself, but nothing comes close to the pizzas that are hand made in the wood stove at The Real Italian Pizza Co. in Bath. The restaurant is the only one in the world and it’s owned by a lovely Italian family who are incredibly polite. I usually have my favourite Prosciutto and Funghi pizza and it’s absolutely delicious! I have never tasted a better pizza before and I don’t think I will. Not only is the atmosphere really nice there, but you feel really comfortable and relaxed at the same time. The friendly Italian staff really brighten up your day!
The family also owns the shop next door which is called The Real Italian Ice Cream Co. and you wont find better ice cream or sorbet for miles! They make their ice cream and sorbet themselves and it’s fresh everyday. Not to mention they also use low fat milk so their ice creams are less fattening than all of the others, yet the taste doesn’t suffer. You can either eat in or take away and if you have eaten in the pizza restaurant next door, you can also enjoy your ice cream or sorbet as a dessert there too as the staff bring it round.
The Bath Abbey
The Bath Abbey is one of the most incredible buildings! It was founded in 1499 when the newly appointed, Bishop of Bath, Oliver King, was said to have a dream of angels ascending and descending into heaven, which inspired him to build a new Abbey church – the last great medieval cathedral to have been built in England. The Abbey is what Bath is known for as everyone comes to see its gorgeous architecture and at Christmas time there is a wonderful carol service which takes part.
The Parade Gardens
The Parade Gardens is located in the middle of town and it’s a beautiful park situated next to the river. When I was younger I used to go there all the time to watch the magic shows they would put on and to sit in the deck chairs with my mum and gran. It’s such a beautiful place to be and because it’s right in the middle of town, it’s easy to walk in and relax after stressful shopping.
The Globe Inn
The Globe Inn is a pub that I have known since I was tiny. It’s not a pub that just sells alcohol, it’s a family pub that serves home made food and has a really nice atmosphere. I don’t generally like pubs because I don’t drink myself, however I like going here at lunch times as they have some wonderful food and desserts. It’s also right next to the fields so you have an amazing view of the countryside.
The Botanical Gardens
The Botanical Gardens is another park that I favour! It’s actually my favourite park and it’s inside the famous Victoria Park which Bath is known for. I love going here to feed the squirrels and birds and just enjoy the scenery. It’s really relaxing and they have some beautiful trees, flowers, streams and ponds as well. I used to go there when I was younger and sit underneath the mulberry tree, I remember that so well. I have very fond memories of the Botanical Gardens in Bath as I have always been a nature lover. If you are too then I definitely recommend you check it out as well.
And here are two other places I love to visit! I didn’t include them properly as I don’t have many photos of them, however I couldn’t leave them out!

Loved this post. And the polka-dot dress. If anyone thinks the English countryside is just one large landscape, they should look at your photos of Bath and know that even towns can make a fashion statement.

Oh I am glad you liked it Katherine! It isn’t just one landscape at all, although there are acres of fields, there are always little villages, farm houses and even small cities too!
I didn’t know you live in Bath, I’m in Southampton.
I’ve been to Bath only once but I didn’t have time to explore many places.
Nice photos!

Yeah I generally usually keep it quiet about where I live, but I do love it here so I thought it was about time!
Hi, thank you for your comment on my blog, I love yours as well and gonna definitely follow you! I’ve been to Bath once about three years ago, I was actually in London in that time but I also made a quick stop in Bath and I loved it there much more than in London! Unfortunately, I didn’t have a chance to visit all of the places you’ve mentioned, so this would be probably one of my goals to the future!

Wow your hometown looks so adorable!!! I love it! That’s how I feel about Vienna (my Dad’s hometown and one of my favorite cities in the world!) because even though it is a city you feel like you’re in the countryside sometimes =D
