Autumn Walks With Hunter Dark Ruby Gloss Wellies

(Jeans – Similar, Gilet – Similar, Wellies – Exact & Exact, Cardigan – Similar)

Those of you who live here in England are probably aware that the weather has been absolutely awful, it’s been pouring with rain most days and really windy. Usually this upsets me a lot as I can’t wear the outfits that I want to, but lately I have kind of been excited by it. It means that I get to wear my wellies and don’t have to worry about ruining my shoes. I got these new Hunter Short Boot Wellies in Dark Ruby Gloss (similar here) a couple of weeks ago after seeing them online. As you know I have the Tall Navy Gloss Hunter Wellies already, but since a lot of my clothes are burgundy, I wanted a pair to tie in with that colour. I was toying with the idea of getting the taller boots, but I thought having a shorter pair would be a good choice so that I have one of each, plus they end up showing more of my jeans and not being too overwhelming. The colour of these is amazing, it’s like a dark burgundy, but with purple in it, so it’s a beautiful rich shade. I definitely recommend this colour if you are looking into buying a pair of Hunter rain boots! If anyone is wondering about sizing, I’m usually a size UK 6 in most shoes and boots and I take a 6 in my Hunter wellies, but I can’t wear them with socks because they end up being too tight. If you are between sizes, I definitely recommend taking the larger of the two sizes.

I paired my Dark Ruby Gloss Wellies with my trusty AG Adriano Goldschmied The Legging Jeans in 12 Years Dwight. I thought the wash on these jeans was a great contrast against the burgundy as the blue really makes it pop, not to mention these are one of my favourite jeans that I own, they are so comfortable and soft! I chose to wear my Topshop Burgundy Gilet over the top of a H&M Grey Cardigan for warmth. The gilet actually comes with a grey knitted hood attached to it, so it works best when I wear a grey cardigan or jumper underneath so the colours match. Luckily, the burgundy shade of this gilet was actually pretty close to the shade of my wellies, so it ended up being a great match! It was so windy and wet on this day though, I took these photos last Sunday just before the crazy storm came in, so I was avoiding the rain showers and trying to keep my hair under control for the photos, ha ha. My boyfriend is definitely a trooper, having to put up with taking my photos in all sorts of conditions! Anyway, what do you think of the outfit? Comment and let me know like always! Don’t forget to follow me on Google + as well!

Ha ha, you are right! A lot of it is burgundy, it’s my favourite colour! But I do own a lot of other colours too, especially grey, blue, pinks and black. I have a lot of yellow and orange too actually, and purple! But I definitely tend to favour burgundy, anytime I see it, it’s a weakness, lol! 🙂 You should definitely get a pair when you can, they are great wellies! The site I got them from had a discount code!

    Hi Lorna,

I just wanted to let you know that you have a huge fan from Austria!!! 🙂 As I’m also very much into fashion and trends I have come across a lot of fashion blogs but I think yours really stands out because I can actually imagine wearing the clothes you show in day to day life, which for me is a very important factor.
I’m especially envious of your beautiful hunter boots and thanks to your blog I’m tempted to buy pair of my own 🙂

Hi Sophie! Thank you so much for loving my blog! It means a lot to me when I get nice comments like that. I know what you mean about a lot of bloggers clothes being unwearable in day to day life, I only post the clothes that I wear everyday, so it’s important to me they look stylish and good, but not too crazy 🙂 I love the Hunter wellies though! The links to purchase are in the post under the words ‘exact’ at the top, Magriggs have them the cheapest, plus a discount code on Facebook 🙂

Hi Robert! I think it depends what you wear it with actually, if you wear it with darker colours then I think it could look ago. Burgundy can be manly too!

I love the pictures where your hair is flowing!!! So cute! And the pairing of burgundy and light grey is one of my favorite pairing!! =D

Wow just when i thought the Navy Hunter Wellies outfit was your best, you go and outdo yourself. I have to retract my previous statement about you reminding me of Ms. Swift, you are your own level of beauty that seperates you from celeb comparisons. Keep doing what your doing Lorna, you are a homerun of a girl.

Now about the outfit, i love it. I am biased towards the tall hunters but you can sure make an exception. The color coordination is excellent and the jeans really make the booty pop! Also your hair is fantastic, keep your blonde locks a-flowin!

I have high hopes for a pair of white or pink hunters under the Xmas tree myself so fingers crossed! Happy Holidays!

Thanks Lorna i hope so too! I have a pink and white rugby shirt and white pants to go with it so im uber excited. Your welcome too, just do what you do, your really quite an amazing woman.

Now the fashionista in me is really curious what you think of this dress:

For some reason the dress really reminds me of you and i think youd look just down right phenomenal in it. Let me know cause i got plenty of ideas if your interested! I am an aspiring fashion designer after all

It’s definitely pretty, but it’s not my style. It’s too old fashioned for me with the really long hemline, I prefer above the knee dresses!

I don’t like tennis dresses either lol, I generally like floral and girly dresses for summer time. For wellies, I would probably get grey or brown as they are a versatile colour! I do like the normal navy though without the gloss!

The navy wellies are amazing. I have yet to find an outfit they dont go well with aside from clashing colors. Pairing them with a popped collar polo is a usual outfit staple of mine. You wear polos much?

I’m 5ft 5 inches tall, but my legs have an inseam of 30 inches. Did you want me to measure how tall the boots are? 🙂 Maybe on the Hunter website they have the measurements!
