Me right next to Big Ben at night time! It’s stunning!
So as you know, it was mine and Adam’s 6 year anniversary over the weekend and we took a short holiday to London to celebrate it. I hadn’t been away since last year when I went to Italy, so it was really nice to do something fun again! We stayed in The Grosvenor Hotel in Victoria for 2 nights and had a great time! We left early on Friday morning and arrived at the hotel around midday, where we checked in and then got ready to go out and explore. You can see my little Instagram photo diary below with the writing underneath each photo, explaining everything! We must have done so much walking, it was crazy. My whole body was hurting and despite being in a lot of pain a lot of the time, I had a wonderful time and would love to do it again some time! I hope you enjoy the photos! I will be posting my travelling home outfit and more in the next set of posts!
The view of London from the hotel balcony.
A photo of the gorgeous fields that we passed on the train on the way to London.
We stayed at The Grosvenor Hotel on Buckingham Palace Road. This was our room! It was a basic double room that we booked and was really nice, except the pillows were not very comfortable so I didn’t get a very good nights sleep on the first night.
An update for Instagram when I arrived! Selfie in the bathroom mirror, had to be done, ha ha!
The chandelier in the main room was amazing!
View of the gold and marble pillars in the hallways!
Our room was situated down here!
I was too excited to get ready and go out shopping, plus it was raining, so I never actually took any photos while out. This was taken on the bed resting after. I went shopping at Selfidges, Harrods and Harvey Nichols though! We also at at the Wagamama’s in Harvey Nichols. I got the chance to try on my dream ring in Tiffany’s and Adam fell in love with a gorgeous Omega watch!
Next day, another bathroom mirror selfie!
They have this cool leather chair and table in the hall that I couldn’t resist having a photo in!
View from across the balcony.
Adam’s breakfast. It looked much more appetising than mine, so that’s why I took a snap of his instead!
Then we headed out to the Natural History Museum! This was how it starts, going up this huge escalator (which goes up 4 floors) into the volcano style dome. It was so cool!
We saw a lot of cool rocks and gems, this was one of them!
Photo next to a prehistoric giant sloth.
The view of the great hall inside the museum from the balcony. All of the people you see here were queing for the dinosaur exhibit, so unfortunately we didn’t have time to que and see it! We are planning to do it next time!
A close up of the giant sloth.
Double selfie of my boyfriend and I in the museum!
It was really cool actually getting to see a Dodo. I’m so sad they are extinct. We saw so many other prehistoric animals and really amazing things, including experiencing a simulated earthquake, that was interesting, however it upset my vertigo for a while unfortunately. Next we plan on doing the Science Museum next door!
Later in the evening, outfit change as we were off to walk about and see the sights!
First stop was Buckingham Palace. This is my 4th time being here (although I was invited inside this time!) and it’s still as beautiful. It looks like the Queen was home too since the flag was flying!
The gorgeous tulips outside of her home.
Sitting on the famous palace water fountain.
I had always wanted to see Big Ben at night to see how beautiful it looks lit up, it was even more stunning in person! I’m so happy that I got to see it! The walk was long and scary in the dark, but I’m glad we did it!
Same with the London Eye, I had always wanted to see this at night, lit up!
Back at the hotel and ready for dinner!
I had chicken caesar salad! One of my favourites and it was delicious, super expensive too… However, I would eat it again!
Adam had this traditional fish and chips, which came out a lot smaller than expect, ha ha.
There wasn’t any dessert on the menu that I could have, but this was Adam’s cheesecake.
On to the next day now and doing some more shopping! Outside the famous Liberty of London shop!
We also went into Hamley’s Toy Store! It was hectic in there though so we didn’t stay long!
I was super excited to actually do shopping in a Marc by Marc Jacobs store! I also went in Marc Jacobs and Christian Louboutin.
One of the other stops was Carnaby Street!
Some really cool things in a shop!
The deers inside Liberty!
Famous Liberty prints on their stationary!
My shopping bags! I managed to get some amazing things! I did go in many different Chanel boutiques looking for the espadrilles I have wanted for forever, but they had all sold out and I was told they were so hard to get hold of! Some of the other shops I went in were Louis Vuitton, Miu Miu, Hermes, Burberry, Mulberry and more on New Bond Street! It was amazing, but I didn’t buy anything due to not having the money for it, lol! I did however buy things in Victoria’s Secret, Selfridges, Zara and Marc by Marc Jacobs! I got 4 amazing bras from VS which I was super excited about! The blazer that I’m wearing in the Liberty and Hamley’s photos above is what was in the Zara bag and I will show you what was in the other two bags below!
This bracelet was from MbMJ! Plus, I did get a little ring, a pen and a keyring from him! This gorgeous Olivia Burton watch was my anniversary present from Adam! I love it!
Now this was what was inside the Selfridges bag… I literally couldn’t afford anything after this and wont be able to for ages, but it was worth it lol.
Here they are! My new Jimmy Choo boots! I saw them and fell in love with them instantly! I will be dedicating a proper post to them soon! So, what do you think of the photos? Comment and let me know!
