The 70’s style kimono with denim shorts and Jimmy Choo boots
At the moment I’m definitely feeling bold colours and prints, especially within the Autumn colour palette. I know that’s unusual for the Summer, but I always love to mix things up! There’s a couple of new purchases here in this look, like my new printed Kimono and Suedette Cami from New Look. I saw these in the store and I just had to pick them up as I thought they matched perfectly together.
I paired both of these items with my vintage Levi’s Denim Shorts to go down the 70’s route and then wore my Jimmy Choo Melba Boots (which you can buy here) as I thought the Sandalwood brown shade was a perfect match. For my accessories and jewellery, I wore numerous bracelets, my Marc by Marc Jacobs Blade Chrono Watch in Rose Gold and then finished it off with my trusty Mulberry Lily in Oak which I seem to love right now.
One of the hardest things about this outfit was actually finding a location to shoot it. Because of the busy print on the Kimono, any place we picked with some type of background just wasn’t working. It was taking the attention off of it, so we had to scout around for a while to find a plain brick wall. Luckily, after a long time searching, we found one and it ended up being the best spot to shoot the photos as the wall had a peachy hue to it, which matched the colour theme. So anyway, please do comment and let me know what you think of my look here! I’d love to know!

Thanks Amy!
Oh, I’ve really been wanting to grab a kimono, but sadly polyester makes me break out and so many of them are made from polyester. Enjoy this lovely piece for the both of us!

It’s really itchy on me too when it’s in jeans and stuff, gives me rashes, but luckily on tops like this, I’m ok! Have you tried a silk one? There’s some pretty silk ones out there!
I loved this kimono and the boots are lovely! I also loved the bag, and I think this look is really modern and cool – and you look beautiful! I always have problems to take pictures, so I gave the idea up and now I use part of a garden to do it, or a bigger one, but they are my places, so no one can see me “posing” 🙂 Sometimes I am shy 🙂 Your pictures are amazing!

Oh I’m shy too! I hate it when people walk past me and stare or wonder what on earth I’m doing lol, I get awkward, so we try to choose quiet locations. Really glad you like the outfit though 🙂 🙂
Your look has great color combination & I especially like the Suedette Cami:]

Oooh, more colour. 🙂 Love it! Plus it’s nice to see a nod to the 70s as that’s where my very earliest memories come from. Life was so simple back then – though, in fairness, I was only 5 when the 70s ended. 😉
Hmm, interesting point you make about it being an autumn colour palette. Obviously it is so… but I think it’s also a summer colour palette too. Instead of leaves and flowers and sunshine I’m thinking in terms of yummy summer berries such as strawberry, raspberry, blackcurrant, redcurrant etc. 😀 Either way, summer or autumn, it’s a great look and it suits you beautifully. 🙂
I think you’ve set me too tough a challenge this time so far as commenting much on the location goes. 😉 lol The spotlight is entirely on you and the outfit. 🙂

I guess you could call it Summery too! It might be a universal season outfit in that case, ha ha! I thought you couldn’t comment on the background in this one too, since there is none! Ha ha!
Not until those weeds grow a bit anyway. 😉
