Dressing Up Hunter’s Heeled Chelsea Boots

Dressing up my Hunter Heeled Chelsea Rain Boots

I’m pretty sure Autumn is very much on its way now as I’m spotting leaves falling off the trees everywhere I go, as well as conkers dropping from the trees already! So what do I do when Autumn comes around? I break out my jeans and blazers and I love to wear new wellies! You probably know by now that I like to have a smart dress sense, so I like the idea of being able to dress my wellies up.

I was able to do that with my new Hunter Heeled Chelsea Boots as they have a touch of glamour to them which is perfect for the looks I like to go for. I’m very much used to my tall, flat Hunter wellies that I wear all the time, so finding a heeled pair that was ankle length was amazing! I get that they might not be the most practical, but for walking around town and wanting to look dressy while keeping your feet dry, they are ideal! I chose the matte black option too as it’s the most versatile and easy to wear with everything.

I wanted to go for an all black look so the Hunter boots would blend in nicely, so I paired Hunter boots with my James Jeans Twiggy Dancer Jeans in Black Flex Distressed to create the illusion of longer legs. The heel on these Chelsea boots is quite high, but with the thick platform at the front, I wouldn’t say the steepness of the boot is much more than 2 inches, so they are very easy to wear. I went for something a little more classy on top, choosing my ASOS Cami Top and then layering my Zara blazer (similar here) over the top to give it some structure.

It wouldn’t be one of my outfits though if I didn’t have some colour somewhere, so of course I went with my amazing rainbow umbrella (buy it here) to brighten it all up. I love the black contrast of the outfit against the pop of the intense rainbow shades. It really livens everything up! The rain was off and on when we shot these photos, but the boots are definitely waterproof in case any of you are wondering. How many of you remember this umbrella from my old fashion blog banner? And of course, please do let me know what you think of this look!

Love it Lorna, fanstic look for September, those Hunters are just amazing, when I was a child we had one choice of basic wellington in black and all loose round the calf lol 🙂 x

Growing up on the farm I’d probably have laughed in the face of anyone who’d suggested the very existence of wellies with high heels. Not very practical for milking cows… 😀 However, these do look great on you as a fashion item and I’m throwing my practicality argument in the bin (unless you are planning on milking any cows…). 😉

So, I think they’re a very nice choice and you probably leave some very interesting footprints behind which may baffle anyone who walks the same route later. 😀

The blazer looks fabulous too and I adore the umbrella. 🙂

Autumn seems to be on hold up here in Lincoln. Today and yesterday were both very warm and sunny. Probably summer’s final effort though.

Ha ha, yeah, I totally understand how impractical these would be for farming duties, but as they are more of a fashion boot, I think they are good! Glad you like the whole outfit though!

They are a great way to have the practicality of a Wellington boot with the stylishness of an ankle boot 🙂

I like the all black outfit too, the umbrella really pops against it!

Love them Lorna, they look fantastic. I like the heels, really sets them apart from other Hunters. I just bought the short dark petrol wellies on clearance, really excited for those!

Yes very excited to wear them a lot this fall. My mom is turning into a welly snob now, she just bought fuschia pink hunters to match me and my sis last month, 2 months before that she got glossy red and black pairs, this last week i went with her to get her some matte green hunters and today she ordered joules evedon ribbon wellies! She said my collection inspired her own as living in seattle makes them regular everyday boots. She wants yellow and white ones next!

My mother was adored with the glossy black originals, she wore em everyday when she first got em. I bet your mum will look as great in any pair just like you.

LOVE that umbrella! It really makes the whole outfit fun. Eventually (re: someday, some year) I need to get some cuter rain boots too. I’m kinda waiting to see where we end of moving though, ha. If hubs gets a job in say, hot and dry Texas, I won’t be needing cute wellies! For now, I just keep going with my old knee high wellies. Good enough for now. 🙂

That does make sense why you will be waiting 🙂 I find though that they last for years and years, so if you do decide to invest in some Hunters of a different kind, you can wear them many years from now too!

How beautiful! I am a big fan of total black outfits and I loved the boots! I always wanted a pair of Hunters, but somehow never got one, probably because I avoid going out when it rains 🙂 Not always possible, so I may get a pair one day! Loved your jeans and I agree with you – I guess I am the same, a touch of colour is always important! I want that umbrella so much! It’s so nice!
