Rockfish Metallic Tall Blush Pink Wellies Review & Outfit

Those of you who follow me on Snapchat, Instagram or Twitter (@LornaRaindrops) will know that I got some new wellies a few weeks ago, and… they aren’t Hunter! I teamed up with Rockfish which is another British wellington boot brand that I got introduced to by a friend and when I saw that they did metallic wellies, I fell head over heels in love with them. I was stuck choosing between the Rockfish Metallic Tall Blush Pink Wellies and the Champagne Gold, but in the end I went with my hearts decision and chose the pink, and I’m glad I did! When I got these out of the box I was in awe at their colour! They truly have a magical sheen to them and the pink is extremely intense.

For those of you who haven’t heard of Rockfish before, like I hadn’t, they are actually very similar to Hunter in terms of fit and sizing. I got size UK 6 in these and I take a UK 6 in Hunter as well. The shaft height is roughly the same and the comfort level might actually be a bit better since they have removable insoles as well. One thing that I did find better with these is that the circumference of the boot seems to be a little smaller, so if you have smaller calves like I do, it’s wonderful as they aren’t as gappy as Hunter boots can sometimes be. I’ve worn these numerous times now as it’s been quite rainy and everyone loves them. They get so many compliments, I definitely recommend them if you are looking for a brightly coloured pair of wellies, the Rockfish metallic blush pink is stunning!

I wanted to make this post more about the wellies than my outfit and as I wasn’t feeling great on this particular day, plus the wind was crazy, there’s only two shots of my outfit and the rest are of my Rockfish boots, but if you want to know what I was wearing, I opted for a monochrome grey outfit with the pink being the focal point. I wore my J Brand Maria High Rise Jeans in Dove with my Bishop & Young Sleeveless Sweater and my Waterfall style Cardigan, finished off with a pink umbrella to match the boots. I’m heavily into greys at the moment and I think pink goes with it nicely. I think I can say that I like these wellies just as much as my Hunter boots and maybe even a little bit more because of the colour! What do you think of them? Plus if you have any questions in regards to them, just let me know below!

I love how much the pink makes this outfit pop! I definitely need to invest in a good pair of wellies for this rubbish weather that we have been having in scotland

I like the whole outfit. 🙂 Another fine example of how fun and interesting grey can look – especially so with several different shades.

The wellies are so intense!!! I mean that in an entirely positive way, of course, they certainly do draw the eye to them. Oh, and just the puddle reflections of your wellies are vibrant in of themselves. 🙂

You gave me pause for thought when I reached the section where you wrote about the comfort levels of your wellies. Do you know, I don’t think I’ve ever given comfort a thought when choosing wellies! :O That seems so strange now that I ponder it because comfort is high up the list of things I consider when purchasing any other footwear. Hmmm, maybe I just have the mindset (from my farm days) of wellies being more a tool than a garment? LOL 😀

Anyway, the bottom line is I think your wellies are great! 😀

Thanks so much Steven! I actually think comfort should be super high on the list for wellies as you can spend a long time in them, especially if you’re busy walking, in mud etc, so comfort is the most important to me! It’s why I don’t get on too well with the cheaper ones, I’ve tried, but they are just painful. So glad you like the look!

Oh yeah, I mostly had the cheaper ones when I worked in them. The worst thing they can do, I found, is rub the ankles. 🙁

That’s the worst for me too lol and don’t wear them without socks! Blisters are horrid!

Yeah of course I do, it depends what kind of help you are looking for? What’s your age, your kind of style?

          • November 15, 2015 / 8:53 pm

Thanks very much. I am looking for style advice for the winter, mostly jumpers, sweaters and shirts and colour comboniations. I am 31 years old and my style is mostly sporty, but I also like to look decent. Is there an e-mail address to where I could send you some photos?

            Kind Regards,

            Koert

I love the pink color! I wish I could get a bright color but I’m really looking for something neutral. I was wondering if you think one should size down in these boots? I have tried on Hunter boots and I’m usually a size 7 but they were way too big. So in hunter I’m a 6. What would you recommend?

Hi, I’m the same size in Hunter as I am in these, I take a UK 6 in both. I hope that helps!

Thanks for your comments =) I read & reply every one =)
