Layers Of Grey

Over the knee boots with lots of grey layers

Oh I am so glad that I shot extra outfit photos last month when I had the opportunity and kept them in storage. The rain has been relentless for over a week now and the wind has been insane, I’ve not actually been able to do a new outfit shoot in about two weeks now so I’m just thankful I have some to use! This particular look I did near the beginning of October when it was a lot warmer, so I’m still feeling very Autumnal when it comes to my outfits at the moment. I’ve got some great ones planned as well, weather dependent, so fingers crossed!

As I’m having an over the knee boots phase at the moment, I chose to pair my Ted & Muffy grey suede Dita boots (similar here) with my Citizens of Humanity Rocket skinny jeans. Since the boots feature a lot of grey, I wanted to play off of that with the cropped striped grey knitted top from Topshop and then layered my sleeveless grey jacket, also from the brand, over the top. To finish it off, I chose my grey floral fedora and to add a pop of colour, my Chanel Small Boy Bag in Bordeaux Velvet. I’d love to know how you’re all doing though and of course what you think of my outfit?

This is very beautiful, I love this outfit! Nice boots and crop top, and the waistcoat is a nice complement to the look! And the bag, sooo sweet! I think you look lovely, very beautiful and I hope you are fine! Wish8ing you a very lovely weekend! I will be more present from now on, since I noticed that Bloglovin deleted all the blogs I followed, I don’t know why – now I am following you “again” 🙂

It’s almost becoming routine that I’m telling you how fabulous you look in shade of grey each time you wear some. But that’s the truth – I think grey is one of the colours that you look at your absolute best in. Blue is, of course, another such colour so those gorgeous jeans finish the outfit off wonderfully. 😀 (And I love the first photo where you’ve got the blue paintwork working with your outfit.)

It’s funny though. I saw your instagram post about this outfit just before I came over to read your blog. I was thinking to myself… Woah! How warm it must be in the south west compared to up here in the east midlands for you to choose that top in November! 😀 Now I see that it was October I don’t feel too hard done by weather-wise. 😉

Curiosty means I have to ask you about that phone box though. Any idea why it’s grey? Is that just an undercoat of paint or are they leaving it like that?

Thanks Steven! I really like grey too, you will be pleased to know that I just purchased a grey bobble hat as well! Exciting times, ha ha! Yeah definitely don’t feel hard done by with the weather, it’s horrible here, it’s in the minuses this weekend for the evenings and of course our roof on the shed has blown off from those storms! The phone box was actually painted grey and staying that way, I think they made it grey to blend in with all the other grey woodwork and areas. It’s definitely different seeing a grey one over a red one! 🙂

The storms didn’t seem to touch anything round here other than a few traffic cones. Does look like being a cold weekend though.

Oooh, I’ll look forward to seeing your bobble hat in some future posting then, I hope? 🙂 I have one bobble hat myself – mostly blue with a few other colours mixed in.

When I was going out with my most recent girlfriend I got very used to seeing all of the cream phone boxes in Hull when I used to travel up there each weekend to see her. That makes a change from red too. 🙂 Here in Lincoln it’s mostly just the modern ugly ones though. LOL

It’s mostly all red ones here too, that’s the first grey one I have seen! And of course, you will definitely be seeing the bobble hat in some of my outfits. I always love reading your thoughtful comments!

Thank you so much, Lorna. 🙂 Well you’ve created something very special in this blog. You always give so much to your readers both in terms of the written/pictorial content that you present and the friendly atmosphere that you maintain here. It’s nice to be able to give a little something back by commenting a few thoughts. 🙂

Anyway, I hope you have a lovely weekend whatever the weather gets up to. 😀

Thank you Steven 🙂 Unfortunately I’m not very well, I caught that cough and sore throat that’s going around, so no plans this weekend but to remain quiet and rested. How about you?

I’ve just back from doing my weekly food shopping. It’s bitterly cold out there in Lincoln today but it had a nice walk. 🙂

No big plans this weekend but I’ve just got one more week at work before I have a week off. So I’ll maybe manage to be more active then when I’m feeling refreshed. 😀 Lincoln Christmas Market is on, in the castle grounds, during my week off so I’ll maybe venture up to that as I’ve not been for a few years. It’s a great atmosphere but, unfortunately, it’s always packed shoulder to shoulder when I’ve been before at weekends. This year I can take a look on the Thursday or Friday during the day and hopefully be able to move.

I hope you feel better soon. 🙂

    Hi Lorna!

This outfit is simply stunning, and I love the way you’ve accessorised it. The bag is beyond gorgeous and such a lovely colour! I know what you mean about the weather. I’ve been so reluctant to get outside and take outfit photos, with all the rain and windy weather we’ve been having. I’m scared my tripod will get knocked over!

I hope you’re having a great weekend. It’s always lovely to visit your blog and see your fabulous outfits.
