Topshop Pinafore Corduroy Dress With Thigh High Boots
Happy belated Valentine’s Day to you all! Adam and I celebrated it over Friday and Saturday instead of Sunday, so I wore this outfit out on the Friday for some lunch and a walk in the park while the daffodils had started to bloom, making a great setting for photos, and then on Saturday we stayed in and watched movies, then ordered some Wagamama takeaway in the evening to eat at home. Nothing lavish, expensive or grand for this one as we are both trying to save money, plus I prefer quiet and quality time over anything extravagant. To me it’s about the company you’re in rather than what fancy thing you might be doing. If you wanted to see what I got for Valentine’s Day from him too, you can see on my Instagram (click here). It was a tiny little Links of London ring charm that I put on a silver chain to wear as a necklace. It’s adorable!
Getting to my actual Valentine’s outfit that I’m sharing with you here, I wanted to wear something different. I’m forever in jeans in Winter almost 100% of the time so I felt like it was time to make a change. I wore my Topshop Pinafore Corduroy Burgundy Dress which I got last month. I’d been eyeing it up for months and then decided to give it a go and I love it! I thought it would be more suitable for the warmer weather since it’s a dress and I don’t like tights, however I found these cashmere and cotton tights which are really comfortable and soft on my skin. They don’t itch or irritate me like normal tights do, they are breathable so they ended up perfect for this dress. I tucked them into my Ted & Muffy Empress Thigh High Boots to keep it smart and classy and I wore my Oasis The Perfect Crew in White underneath the dress to make it a little more cute. Finally, I wore my Rebecca Minkoff Mini MAB in Port which I put my little rose bouquet that Adam bought me inside of. I would really love to know what you think of my outfit here and how you spent your Valentine’s Day?
What I Was Wearing:
Dress – Topshop
Knitwear – Oasis
Boots – Ted & Muffy (similar)
Bag – Rebecca Minkoff

I think that the rich burgundy dress is a lovely alternative to the more obvious Valentine’s option of red. It’s very subtle and very tasteful and it still retains all the playful spirit of a Valentine’s Day look. I like the rest of the look too – but it really is the dress that’s the eye catcher of the outfit. 🙂
It sounds like you both had a brilliant weekend. 🙂 I like your philosophy about the company that you’re in – and that’s something which holds true whatever the occasion. 🙂
For what it’s worth I was with my parents and my grandad over Valentine’s Day weekend. We had a nice weekend and, again, it was about the company. It was my 2nd Valentine’s Day since I became single again – though possibly my 1st ordinary day one since then seeing as last year’s Valentine’s Day was rather surreal. 😀

Do I know what happened last Valentine’s Day or have I completely forgotten? My memory is awful.
I’m so glad you like the dress 🙂 It’s what stood out to me the most every time I saw it in the shop or online too, it’s so pretty! I just know I’m going to end up wearing it with lots more things in the coming future too 🙂
It’s nice you spent Valentine’s Day with your family though, it definitely is about the company. Doesn’t always have to be about romantic love, friendship and family love counts too!
No, you haven’t forgotten. I’ve not mentioned it here before. 🙂 I spent Valentine’s Day last year attending my ex’s brother’s wedding. It was the first (and so far only) time that my ex and I have been in the same place since she broke up with me 3 months before this event. It wasn’t too horribly awkward (as we had talked online about whether or not I would still go to the wedding) but it was certainly a strange way to spend Valentine’s Day. Neither of us were, to be honest, quite ready to socialise together yet. Lol
This year it was more by chance than anything that I was with my family on the day – it was more to do with me having the Thursday and Friday off work. Lol
Oh good, I’ll look forward to seeing what else you pair up with that dress. I can see how you couldn’t resist it. 🙂

Definitely does sound interesting lol, I don’t think that short period of time is enough to be seeing each other again so soon either, but I’m glad you are doing ok now!
Thank you very much. 🙂 Yes, well I’m as sane as I’ll ever be… 😀 lol

These photos are so pretty, I have that pinafore dress in black. Although I love pockets the pockets in this one annoy me a bit I never know whether to have them at the front of the back, do you know what I mean? My husband and I did something really similar this Valentine’s thai takeaway and a dog walk in park – perfect! XX

Oh that sounds lovely! And I find the pockets make the dress bulge out at the sides like a muffin top, so I’m not overly pleased with them lol!
ciao.. stai molto bene^_^

I love everything about this post! Corduroy, flowers, Wagamama, Links of London! You look so beautiful! I loved your outfit, the color, boots, bag. All very chic and well matched! I think it’s nice to stay cosy at home watching a movie, because, after all, love is everyday, and Valentine’s day is nice, but we share love everyday, for sure! Hope you have a very lovely weekend!
