Double Denim With An All Saints Balfern Leather Jacket
Last weekend it was warm enough for me to just wear my All Saints Balfern Leather Jacket in Sahara (buy it here) and I decided to style it with double denim. I layered it over one of my Topshop Sleeveless Denim Shirts and then paired that with my Citizens of Humanity Rocket Crop Jeans in Spritz. I was so excited when I got these jeans as you know I live in my Citizens Rocket in Aura all the time, so it’s great to have the same style but in a darker wash like these. I thought they paired really nicely with my brown leather belt to break up the double denim combination and blend in with the leather jacket. I then wanted some lighter neutrals so I went with my Sam Edelman Petty Booties and my Mulberry Alexa Clutch in Powder Beige.
Instead of the usual landscape scenery shots that Adam and I love to do due to the pretty areas around here, we wanted to do more of a street style shoot for this look and give it some more edge. We headed to the top of town out into the areas where people live and shot in the middle of the street by the cars. It was definitely a different experience having to go in and out of the road to avoid cars though, it’s not something that I would like to do all that often, but I definitely love how these photos turned out. They have an easy, and sometimes candid approach to them. What do you think of my outfit? Double denim is one of my favourite combinations and as the weather warms up I can’t wait to wear it more!
What I Was Wearing:
Jacket – All Saints
Shirt – Topshop
Jeans – Citizens of Humanity
Boots – Sam Edelman
Bag – Mulberry

A great looking outfit, casual with a smooth dressy twist. Glad you are feeling better! If I may ask, why are your Likes switched off? Call me nosy!
Author
My likes switched off? Not sure what this means lol. Do you mean on social media? As to my knowledge they aren’t, I get loads all the time. If you mean likes on my blog, I haven’t ever had likes on here? Just comments.
Glad you like the outfit though!
I looked twice to be sure the Likes were actually off. If they are not then my Mac is doing something goofy. They show up on my site though. Sorry, didn’t mean to make you panic or something.

Do you mean Facebook likes? On the bottom of the post where the social share buttons are?
I’m sorry, the WordPress Like button. i don’t use FB, just IG.
Author
Oh I don’t have this button, that button is generally for free hosted WordPress.com blogs. I used to have one years ago back when I started, but haven’t had one of those since about 2011-2012. That’s crazy, did you see one on here then?
There isn’t one there now. I thought you were self hosted, that button won’t be there unless you install the JetPack plugin which you probably know. Sorry, i didn’t mean to have you spend time on that.
Author
I am self hosted, that’s what I meant about it not being there since years ago when I went self hosted. I do have Jetpack, but I haven’t ever had the WP likes button on as I don’t really like it much. I’d prefer the social share likes on Facebook or Twitter etc! Much more useful to me!
I see, OK. I apologize if I caused you some stress there. I am curious about going self hosted and asking questions. Also wondering what would happen if I shut the Likes down too. It forces people to comment or move on I suppose.
Author
No don’t worry, no stress there. There’s pros and con to both, so feel free to email me if you want some info!
Great outfit for he start of spring. I had never wore double denim till I seen you in it a few years ago. It’s really nice xx

I know that there’s still such a long way to go yet in 2016 but this is my favourite of your outfits and photo shoots so far for this year. 🙂 Just setting that opinion down as a marker… 😉 LOL
I’ve always liked double denim looks (and choose them for myself to wear sometimes). You always do double denim so well but this particular combination is exceptionally good. Those two shades of denim are wonderful together. Those jeans are absolutely gorgeous and suit you to perfection. 🙂
I’m quite impressed that you and Adam managed to get all these fabulous photos in such a busy area – and with not another person in sight. It must have taken you forever? Unless the ongoing plague is keeping everyone else indoors. 😉
Anyway, well done. I simply love this entry!

Thank you, Steven! Really glad you like this one! It’s one of my favourites too. I did think about going with a nude heel, but due to the location we chose, it wasn’t wise to be teetering around in 4 inch heels in the middle of the road, so I stuck with boots, ha ha. We did have to do a lot of in and out of the road to avoid everything, but we managed! Luckily it seemed quite quiet there thankfully, so it was useful!
I’m glad that you chose the boots actually as, like I said another time, I slightly prefer the look of flatter shoes with jeans compared to heels with jeans. So, for me at least, the boots seem perfectly ideal for this particular outfit. 🙂
I can see the practical reasons for your decision too though – that sudden need to run! 😀
Author
Yeah, or knowing me, tripping over in the heels in the road and then being flattened, that could totally happen!
You look so chic Lorna and I love the way you’ve styled the double denim with the leather jacket. The candid, street style photography works really well, and I love the edginess of these images. I’m glad you made it through the shoot safely!

You ever worn your jeans in the bath Lorna, to get that perfect shrink on fit ?
Author
No, I don’t wear shrink to fit jeans. Raw jeans like that are too restrictive and uncomfortable for me so I stick with stretchy, thinner denim. If you sit in a bath with that kind of denim, it will stretch instead lol.
Nice outfit..
