Floral Kimono, PAIGE Denim Skirt & Valentino Sandals
This has been a variation of one of my go to outfits this Summer. I’ve been loving wearing this Floral Kimono from Oh My Love as it’s the perfect bit of extra cover up which doesn’t make you too hot, so it’s been an item that’s draped over my body on numerous occasions, usually always paired with a denim skirt. The denim skirt I chose for this outfit though was the PAIGE Bianca Denim Skirt in Ambrose which I fell in love with because it’s a bit longer, more modest, and the wash is gorgeous. I think the colour of the denim really complements the purple hues in the kimono as well, so I love this look! I did wear a similar outfit to this when I met up with my American friend, Sarah, a little while ago (see here), so you can tell it’s a combination that I really like.
To make this outfit a little more glamorous though, I decided to wear my gorgeous Valentino Rockstud City Sandals which are my favourite sandals to date. I then chose my Mulberry Mini Taylor in Deer Brown, and some simple jewellery. I think opting for the plain oatmeal coloured tank top really helped make the other items stand out as key pieces in the look, plus I didn’t want to overwhelm it with colour and print. Now every time that I look at these photos I feel a warm, happy sensation within me that gives me nostalgia already to this Summer of 2016. I know it’s not even over yet! But it’s one that I am happy to remember for many reasons and I feel like this outfit has been key in me remembering that in years to come. Do you like it? It’s a lot more simple and casual to what I usually wear, plus a little more mature, but with a younger twist at the same time, so I feel like it reflects my personality well at this moment in time.
On a side note, I have a few things to share!
I just found out this morning that I am now number 9 in the list of top UK fashion bloggers! I was previously in the top 20 as position 11, but I am now firmly 9th and that’s incredible! I’m in amongst some amazing fashion bloggers as well, so I’m shocked by this news and unbelievable humbled at the same time. Thank you so much to everyone for making this possible! The Jeans Blog is also doing incredibly well now, it’s just hitting 100,000 views a month and I am beyond happy!
And finally, very soon there will be some more changes to Raindrops of Sapphire! Not in the form of a new layout as I’m extremely happy with how everything is, but in the form of content! I’m going to be bringing a new approach to my outfit shoots, plus incorporating trend articles with my thoughts on them, more reviews, YouTube videos, and new purchases posts too! Lots of exciting things are coming to liven it up a little bit and I’m planning on going back to posting 3 times a week again. What do you think of these ideas? I would definitely love your opinions and welcome them!
What I Was Wearing:

Kimono – Oh My Love (similar)

Wow Lorna you look absolutely exquisite, and I love the floral kimono! It’s a lovely piece, and definitely has a romantic feel! I know what you mean, clothes often have a nostalgic meaning which we associate with certain times in our life. The denim skirt is very stylish, and I like the longer length and button detailing, which makes it more wearable, and a nice variation on the ‘typical’ denim mini. These images are stunning, and the light is really beautiful.
That’s brilliant news about you reaching number 9 in the list of top UK fashion bloggers! Congratulations! You truly deserve it!
The ideas for new types of content sound very promising, and I’m keen to see the different posts you have planned! I also really like the ‘Ask Lorna’ section of your website! It’s like you’re an agony aunt of sorts! A very fashionable one, haha!

I’m really happy you like it! It’s definitely a much more wearable skirt than the denim minis if you want something that doesn’t ride up and covers more modesty. My denim minis ride up constantly lol!
And thank you for the congratulations on number 9! I’m so excited! That’s great to know you like my Ask Lorna page too! I actually have an updated Q&A coming up towards the end of the month which should be good!
I agree, a longer length skirt definitely feels more comfortable, and this one looks super-stylish as well.
You’re so welcome! I’m excited to see the updated Q & A and will be sure to take a look! xx

I did have to re-schedule it for early next month actually as everything has been so booked up in my schedule! So it’s a little delayed now, sorry!
No worries Lorna! I’m sure it will be worth the wait! xx

I love the color of the kimono against your hair! I also think it is a great transitioning piece from summer to fall, since it isn’t a too bright shade!
