Topshop MA1 Burgundy Bomber Jacket With Jeans

I’m excited to say… it’s officially Autumn! I explained how excited I was about the new season in my Autumn wish list post and I think this outfit marks the first of my Autumn looks for 2016! The days are getting a little chillier now and I can feel that brisk, sharp coolness in the air in the mornings, so it’s definitely here! I do have one outfit left to share with you which is more Summery, but I wanted to post this one first to say hello to the new season already. So first, lets talk about the location as we found an old church nearby which had one of the most gorgeous, carved wooden doors that I’ve seen. Somehow we have never noticed this door before as it’s around the side of the church, not at the front, so that would explain it, but given how rich and golden the wood colour was, it made the perfect backdrop for this outfit and the colour palette.

I was wearing my new Topshop MA1 Lined Burgundy Bomber Jacket that I mentioned to you I purchased a few weeks ago. When I saw how gorgeous it was online, I did wait a couple of weeks first to make sure that I liked it, then I even looked in store to find it but my Topshop didn’t have it, so I finally ordered it online. I actually bought the Topshop MA1 Bomber Jacket last year in the Khaki Green colour (same as Adam’s below) but as you know I obsess over burgundy, so it made sense for me to get this colour. This Bomber Jacket is also lined with faux fur, so it’s incredibly warm and cosy which makes all the difference. I’ve worn it so many times already, I can’t get enough of it. It’s the jacket I’m reaching for when I go out now. It does run a little bit big, so I got a UK 6 in it.

I paired my Topshop MA1 Bomber Jacket with my Levi’s Skinny Jeans in Black, a simple ASOS T-Shirt and my ALLSAINTS Elmore Boots. Adam actually bought me these boots for my birthday as they were in the sale and even though we ordered the full leather version, the suede/leather combination turned up and it was actually a happy accident. I like these ones a lot! The heel isn’t too high so they are easy to walk in and they pair well with black jeans. They are sold out, but these ALLSAINTS Xavier Boots are almost identical. They do tend to run small so I had to take my larger size of a 40/UK 7 in them. Given that bomber jackets are quite masculine, I think pointed, heeled boots are a perfect option to dress this type of jacket up. What’s your opinion on that? I’d love to hear your thoughts on my outfit and what you think of bomber jackets.

As I mentioned above, Adam has the same Topshop MA1 Bomber Jacket but in Khaki. He had been looking for a bomber jacket that was really well fitted, not too oversized, and nice looking and unfortunately, no men’s versions came close as they are always so big. I suggested that he tries on a Topshop one since it looks like a unisex, masculine jacket anyway and he already loved how mine looked. He opted for the size UK 10 in the Tall version so it was long enough, and I think it fits him amazingly. I would say he looks better in his Bomber Jacket than I do in mine! Adam has his own men’s fashion blog now called ‘Your Average Guy‘ (click name) which focuses on wearable men’s clothing, featuring his own outfits too, which I shoot since he shoots for me. I would love for you to check out his blog and you can see the full version of this Topshop MA1 Bomber Jacket outfit of his on his menswear blog too!

Wow I love your bomber jacket Lorna! And with the feminine boots added, you look like a total bomb-shell! (Did you see what I did there?!) I had a burgundy bomber jacket that was nearly identical to this one, back in the ’90s Lorna! But I don’t know where it went! Otherwise I could dig it out now and it would be completely acceptable to wear! Anyway, you look fabulous in yours and the colour really suits you! I love the background with the wooden Church door. It co-ordinates perfectly with the burgundy tone of your jacket. Adam looks very stylish in the khaki version as well!

Oh!! That’s a shame you you can’t find yours! Otherwise it would have been the ‘bomb’ ha ha, see I can do it too! LOL! I’m really happy you love everything here though, Saba! But the church door is stunning isn’t it? And thank you for the compliments!

Haha! I did actually look for it after seeing your blog post. I don’t remember donating it to a charity shop, so it’s probably hidden away in the garage! Seeing you look so nice in your jacket inspired me to want to find it! I like your use of puns Lorna! I love the grandeur of Churches, and this particular location is indeed lovely! xx

Yay! Finally something that is within my price range! LOL! That bomber jacket is gorgeous and I can’t believe it’s from TopShop. Love that it’s burgundy too instead of the usual khaki. Will check it out.

You definitely should! I will admit I do have expensive taste, but I do often wear a lot of Topshop and high street brands too, just my accessories are usually fairly expensive.

I think both of the jackets look great. 🙂 I have a predictable preference for the colour of Adam’s jacket, of course, but yours looks fabulous too. The burgundy goes so well with those black jeans – and the jeans themselves are perfect anyway. 🙂 Those boots are rather cute and I’m pleased for you that you had such a happy accident in getting them. 😀

Those church doors are lovely. It’s funny how we can fail to notice things for so long. I’ve lived in Lincoln for almost 16 years now and I’m still noticing things here for the first time in places I pass by all the time. 😀

I’m happy to say that I already have Adam’s blog bookmarked. 🙂 I hope he has great success with it. 😀

I saw you did have his blog on your bookmarks as I’ve seen a couple of comments from you, which is really kind! That’s nice that you are going to be following his too, makes me smile 🙂 And I know! I have seen numerous things I never notice usually, it’s weird as we always just walk on by as we have lived in these cities for years and just think there’s nothing new to see, but there is. Maybe we should make some type of pact to go out once a month to explore our own cities like a tourist and find new things! Then share our findings on Instagram maybe! That would be cool 😀

So glad you like the bomber jackets though and don’t worry, I knew you would like Adam’s more since it’s green! I will let you off, ha ha!

      • September 25, 2016 / 8:35 pm

Thanks. 😉 Yes, if I’d come on and said I preferred your jacket to Adam’s then you’d have known I was lying. LOL Plus I’d already admired his jacket on his blog. 😀

Oh, that’s a good idea about the tourism! 😀 Yeah, I might do that. 😀

I really like that jacket – on you both! It’s a great unisex option. That burgundy colour is so nice on you! It’s a great colour for cooler weather too as it goes with so many different colours for layering 🙂

    Hope you’re having a great weekend 🙂

Top Shop has a great collection of bombers. I love yours and may get it since it’s so Fall. Great look Lorna. And yes he looks great in the khaki. It’s nice that you both blog so you can compare notes and stuff and he’ll totally understand when you spend $ buying stuff for your blog. Happy weekend beautiful.

I’m lucky that he understands anyway when I buy expensive things, ha ha. Most of the time he encourages me and we decide together, as I do with him, he’s into designer things too so it’s mutual! Thankfully! Really happy you like both the blogs though, Idu!

I’ve been seeing a lot of bomber jackets lately, and I must say that I’m really over it! I don’t have one just yet but I’m dying to get one. Maybe when it gets chilly in Manila already! Both love these colors. 🙂 Also, please check out my latest travel post: Tokyo Disneyland experience + a few tips. Hope to hear from you soon! ♥
