When Adam and I were at St. Ives last month, the weather was insane. It was crazy to think that the first 4 days of our holiday were around 32-34 degrees celcius and it was scorching, then on the day we were due to come home, it was cooler and raining. Adam said we got incredibly lucky with the weather, as did everyone else, and for a beach holiday, you really would think that, but I think I am the only one that didn’t. Not that I was ungrateful to have such wonderful weather, but it was just too hot for me and most the time I was exhausted, feeling sick, and trying to find shade in any place possible, only feeling ok in the evenings. I think at one point I was stuffing myself into the gaps of the cliff so that I could find some shade. I really don’t cope in the heat with my medical issues and it felt like torture at times, which makes me sound like such a moaner, but I have to be honest. It was ok for the first half an hour or so and to keep dipping myself in the sea water which was so cold it makes your bones ache, but after that, it was tough.
For the outfit here, I was living in my bikini pretty much. That’s all I could manage to wear – a bikini and sun cream. I had this gorgeous floral sarong/scarf from Roman Originals (it’s only £15!) though to cover me up so that I felt more comfortable around the lower half, and thankfully it’s super breezy and lightweight. It’s funny though, since I remember being too hot, I actually love these photos and I think they might actually be my favourites that I have ever posted on my blog. I love the way the waves were crashing behind me and the sea is such a vibrant shade of aqua, combined with the combination of my yellow bikini top and the tropical sarong print – everything worked so well together. They even reminded me of some campaign shots you might see in a magazine, so I thank Adam greatly for shooting these! I’m going to keep it short and sweet and wish you a very happy Sunday, but I hope you enjoy these photos! Comment and tell me! Lorna xx.

I can’t handle that kind of heat very well either… indeed temperatures even a few degrees below what you had there are too hot for me. 😀
These are certainly a terrific set of photos. So bright, colourful and cheerful and a great advert for how delightful the beaches of Cornwall are. 🙂

Thank you, Steven 🙂 So happy you like the photos! Cornwall beaches truly are spectacular 😀
I’m loving the scarf as well as the bikini, really beautiful colors! Excellent photos, the beaches do look incredible! I hope I get to visit them someday.

Thank you! I hope you can too!
That’s a really excellent scarf. And be grateful you weren’t here; not only are we short on beach, but the temperature has been pushing 40º of late.

Oh my goodness! Yeah I couldn’t handle that, what so ever!
You look so beautiful, it seemed like you really enjoyed the weather. You wore attractive colours which provided a nice contrast with the water.

Dear Lorna, so sorry it was much too hot for you during these days. I really can imagine that with your medical issues such a heat is absolutely a challenge. But I agree, the pictures you show here are fantastic and you look beautiful and fresh. No wonder you think these pictures belong to the favourites here on your blog <3
