The Coral Blazer With Pink Accessories
Springtime! I get so excited when I see the blossom out on the trees and the pink hues everywhere. When I take a deep breath and smell freshly cut grass and fragrant scents (before irritating my nose) I feel content and happy inside as Spring is one of my favourite seasons. I know the weather is warm enough to not have to wear a million (or billion) layers, but it’s not so hot that I melt. It’s one of the prettiest seasons, along with Autumn, and I’m happy that it’s finally here.
For my outfit, I wanted to wear some bright colours as I’ve been sticking to a lot of neutrals lately in the form of grey, beige or black, so a lively colour palette was so refreshing. I opted to wear my old Topshop Coral Blazer (you’ve seen it here as part of a set) with a beige tank top from River Island. I chose my Citizens of Humanity Rocket Crop Jeans in All Black to make a great base, then added in my Rebecca Minkoff Mika Mules in Peony Pink (seen here) with my new Rebecca Minkoff Leo Clutch in Pink Straw. I wasn’t sure if the pinks and corals would pair well together, however I liked the contrasting appearance and am happy with how it turned out.
I’m sure you may have noticed that I’ve been quite into Rebecca Minkoff lately and am really loving some of her current season pieces. There’s so many cute bags and shoes that I just can’t seem to stop liking. I’ve already got three new items! It might also come as a shock to you all, given how much I love denim and work in the industry, but I haven’t bought any new jeans since I got this black pair from Citizens of Humanity (around 3 months), so I might be on the lookout for a nice new light wash from the brand, or stick to the not buying and make do with what I have as I do have an extensive collection. What new denim have any of you got recently? And of course, please do let me know what you think of my outfit in the comments below. Lorna xx.
P.S. – Thank you for all of the support regarding my latest health post and my Hypermobile Ehlers Danlos Syndrome diagnosis. You’re all so lovely.
What I Was Wearing:
Blazer – Topshop (similar)
Jeans – Citizens of Humanity
Shoes – Rebecca Minkoff

I love it too!
If I’d not seen the photos of this blazer as part of a set then I don’t think I’d guess that it had those origins. It certainly has a real life and spirit of its own as a solo piece. 😀 It’s terrific paired with those black jeans.
It’s quite amazing to read that you’ve gone three whole months without buying any jeans! How long is it since you last went that long without buying any? I’ve not really bought myself any new clothes at all this year but as I’m still job hunting I’m on a bit of a budget these days so I’m making do with what I already have. 🙂
The first photo of you sat on the bench is so lovely, by the way, great look and great colour palette too.
Sorry that I’ve been a bit slow in catching up with your recent entries. I’ve been a bit busy lately with one thing and another but I’m sure you know I turn up eventually. 😉 LOL
Author
Yeah, that’s why I like it as it doubles as a plain jacket or a suit! It’s definitely cool 😀
Gosh, I’m not sure how long ago that would have been regarding the jeans! I’ve not even been sent any for review in ages, so I don’t know. We’re probably talking many years ago, ha ha. I’m making do with what I have.
And no worries! I know you always catch up. I was wondering actually when I would see you comment on my health post and then within an hour, you did! I must have picked up on you, lol!
You might very well have done! 😀 Stranger things than we can understand happen in life. I always seem to phone my grandad at the exact moment that he’s thinking of me! LOL
I saw a few days ago, from my Facebook Feed, that you’d written the health post but I always, and most especially with the really important posts, like to come and read when I have the time to take in and carefully digest what you’ve written. It’s just not in my nature to do “drive by” reads and comments. 😉 LOL
Many years eh? Well I’m very impressed by your resolve and restraint this spring. 🙂 The only thing I’ve bought recently were new best shoes ahead of a job interview I had a week or so ago… then I walked for 12 miles in them (the interview was 6 miles away) and got myself a nice collection of blisters. 😀
Author
Blisters are the worst! That’s one thing I suffer so bad from! Even after 2 minutes of shoes I can get blisters because of the stretchy skin. I even got a blister on my finger the other day from using the hand held hoover for a few minutes. It’s a nightmare, so I don’t envy you there!
And no worries, I know you always like to stop by and read properly and give a thoughtful comment, I always appreciate that about you 🙂
And that’s funny about your grandad! Or you think of someone and they call you 😀
That coral blazer is fabulous!

I love that fun straw clutch with the coral blazer, such nice ways to add colour to an otherwise neutral outfit! 🙂 I’m all about Rebecca Minkoff lately too, haha! I can’t help it when things go on sale so frequently, too many tempting bargains!
Sorry I can’t help with the jeans – it’s been nearly a year since I got a pair. I’ve been wondering about updating my collection but unless I see a fun colourful pair I think I’ll stick with what I have 🙂
Hope you have had a wonderful weekend! We had a fun time at a kite festival on Sunday! 🙂

Wow, a year? I couldn’t go that long I don’t think! And I’m so glad you like the outfit and the clutch, it’s definitely one I recommend! Although you can’t fit a lot in it as it’s quite stiff. The festival sounds fun though!
I’m sooooooo into that straw clutch, accessories like that really put Spring/Summer vibes into your outfit! Definitley a timeless keeper! ( :

As usual, a great ensemble, but I find myself especially drawn to that Rebecca Minkoff clutch. It comes off like a mosaic from a third-century house of worship: the Big Picture and the fine detail compete for one’s attention. A lot to ask from a bag, even today.

Yeah, I agree with you there, it’s definitely a statement piece and adds liveliness to any outfit!
