Stuart Weitzman Tieland Over The Knee Boots Review
I’m sure you know how much I love over the knee and thigh boots as I’ve been wearing them for years. I was always a huge fan of Stuart Weitzman, but as I have small calves I wasn’t sure if their standard width would fit me, plus their prices are quite expensive. I’ve always stuck to Duo Boots as they do custom calf widths (I take a 33-34cm), but their designs aren’t very fashion forward anymore, so when I saw a Stuart Weitzman outlet at Bicester Village earlier this month, I was super excited! I tried on a few different styles and to my surprise, they actually fitted me all over, quite slim! I am left with a tiny gap around the ankle so it does bunch a bit as I have slim ankles, but I am thinking a sock around that area might pad that out. Anyway, for those of you worried about sizing and if you will fit them, I thought I would do a review for you on the Stuart Weitzman Tieland that I picked up for a steal at the outlet, they were £219 instead of £730! How could I pass that up?!
The Sizing
I’m usually a 39-40 in most shoes, 39 in UK or US brands and a 40 in European designers, however the lady in Stuart Wetizman (Roberta) said they run large, so she brought me out them to try. She was telling the truth too as the 40 was huge! Even the 39 was slightly big as it was a bit looser around the ankles. They didn’t have a 39 in this particular style though, so we went for a 38.5 which is a UK 5.5 and I’ve never fitted that in anything, so they definitely do run big. The 38.5 is snug though, but I am hoping they will stretch in the foot. Regarding the length of the boot, it’s got a lot of stretch to it so it hugs the leg nicely. The measurement at the calf is around 35cm, so it is slightly bigger than what I am used to, but with the stretch, it hugs nicely. The shaft height is 57cm as well, so if you need to measure where it will hit on your legs, you can. I’m 5ft 4 with an inseam of around 29 inches to the floor, and they hit me at just below mid thigh as you can see from the photos just below.

The Design
The Tieland is the mid height over the knee boot from Stuart Weitzman so the heel is 7cm, which is 2.75″, so you can see it’s extremely easy to walk in as it’s also a block heel, not too steep, but high enough to give your legs some length while remaining a day boot. It has an almond rounded toe, and the shaft is elasticated suede that pulls up over the leg, there’s no zippers. There’s a tie at the back of each boot and you can make the leg opening tighter or looser. It’s a classic design that will never get dated in my opinion.
It is a little tough to get on though. The guy in the shop had to help me by folding the shaft down over the boot so that I could get my foot into it, then pull the shaft up over my leg slowly, so they do take some getting into, but as long as you have a sock or pop sock on, there’s no issues with it as it’s quite easy. You take them off the same way by rolling the shaft down, then pulling the boot off. I was worried about this damaging the boot, but so far so good, and if it’s what they told me to do in the boutique, it must be fine so I will keep doing it this way. I do love the design overall, it’s beautiful. I can see why so many celebs and fashion bloggers are fans! They literally have the perfect shape to them.
The Suede
These Stuart Weitzman Tieland boots are made in Spain and made from a very soft, smooth suede. The colour I have is Haze Suede, which I know was last season, but they always do a taupe/beige colour every season and it’s extremely similar, if not the same, to the current one out called Taupe. It smells expensive, is very comfortable and nice to wear, so I can’t fault the material at all in my review. It’s amazing and definitely of a very high quality! I’m already eyeing up the burgundy ones!
The Comfort
As these are stretch suede and the block heel is only 7cm tall, they are extremely comfortable, however I have noticed the seam around the top of the foot does dig into me a bit, as well as the back of the heel where it sinks in, that presses against my heel. I am thinking this might be because I sized down to a 38.5 and they are pretty tight (they need to stretch) so a 39 might be a lot more comfortable, but I’m happy to stretch them out for the price they were. Regarding walking or using the stairs, it’s easy to do and doesn’t come with much restriction unless the steps are steep. Other than that, I find them easy to walk in (as easy as flats) and there’s no pain on the ball of my foot. These also have a rubber sole so I haven’t noticed any slipping, and it also adds comfort to the foot.
The Versatility
As these are a taupe colour (Haze if you want to be specific) I think they are extremely versatile. I’ve tried them out with bare skin, blue jeans, grey jeans, and black jeans, so far every one of them has matched. I don’t think there’s a shade it wont go with because it’s neutral. I think I couldn’t have chosen a better first colour for Stuart Weitzman to be honest! I can’t wait for it to cool down enough so that I can wear them a lot more. I love my tall boots in Autumn!
Overall Opinion
If you have got this far in the review, then I am sure you can tell that I love them. If you have skipped ahead, the general gist of it is that the height of the shaft is ideal, the circumference of the leg is great (I just need some more padding around the ankle), the stretch suede is extremely comfortable and of high quality, the heel height is ideal and comfy to walk in as it’s a block heel, the taupe colour is stunning and so versatile, it’s the best shade to choose, and they’re non slip with a very flattering silhouette.
My only negative is the foot seam that presses into my skin, and the back of the ankle/heel area, due to them being quite tight, but I will update this as I wear them to see if they stretch out and stop doing that. Regarding the colour combo and the rubber sole, I think I would have preferred the sole colour to match the taupe suede so that it was more seamless, but it’s ok. I give these boots a 9 out of 10! My only let down is their retail price as £730 is very steep, so I’m thankful I only paid £219 at Bicester Village. Thank you to Roberta, the sales assistant, for all the help! I love my new boots! I’m planning on going back in a few months time. What do you think? If you need anymore advice, let me know in the comments below and I can answer your questions for you. Lorna xx.

They are great!
Scary price even when reduced. I have so many problems getting comfy footwear that I would be scared to pay that price in case they joined my growing collection of shoes that I can’t wear. They look great but I would be worried I would get a mark on them . Rachel

I definitely get what you’re saying and I have really sensitive feet that blister easy, so I have shoes I can’t wear too. However, I have noticed, if you pay more the general quality and shoe is better made, so they are less painful (Louboutin aside – doesn’t count) so cheaper shoes are usually never worth it!
They are such beautiful boots, and what a bargain! Still expensive, but a lot cheaper than full retail! You scored a great deal. I hope that with them stretching out a little the little annoyances become less of an issue – I know you’ll get a lot of wear from these over your upcoming autumn 🙂
Hope that you are having a lovely weekend 🙂 We are getting some much-needed rain here which is fantastic. Does mean we aren’t doing what we had planned though, haha!

I don’t intend on wearing them in mud or anywhere dirty, so hopefully they don’t have to be cleaned! I’ve never cleaned any of my other tall boots and I’ve worn them loads. Fingers crossed!
These are gorgeous boots. Love the color you chose, Lorna. xx

I love the idea of something smelling expensive. 😀 That’s an interesting idea for sure.
The boots look terrific and certainly look like they’d go with anything. Have you thought of trying them with your new green jeans at all? I think that might work quite well.

Hi could you please please tell me the circumstance around the ankle , mid calf, knee and the very top all unstreched. I have chicken legs🙈
Circumference*
Author
Hi, unfortunately I can’t get those measurements as the boots are just loose floppy fabric when they aren’t worn, so I couldn’t get anything accurate what so ever. If it helps, my calf circumference is 33-34cm at the widest point (I have small calves too) and they fit me well as you can see 🙂
