My 20 Favourite Summer Outfits

I thought it might be fun to take a look back and select some of my favourite Summer outfits over the years that I have been blogging. Because I was choosing 20, I’ve gone from 2012 until 2019. The months selected were June, July and August, and obviously I haven’t chosen any from this year because of the Covid situation and not having any proper Summer outfits yet.

When I do ‘look back’ posts like this, I am always eager to see how much my style has changed over the years, as well as how much I have changed as a person, both mentally and physically. I’m sure you can see that my weight goes up and down by a few pounds all the time, but one thing that stands out to me now is how refined my style has become. You could definitely say it’s matured, even when I’m wearing bolder prints and colours, there’s still a mature aspect to it that I didn’t have a few years ago when my outfits appeared more youthful and fun. I’m intrigued to see which type of looks you liked the most? Lorna xx.

Lorna, I remember all of these looks. You look fabulous in the simple outfits of Summer and all tied together wonderfully. Sexy, cute, stylish, and perfect for you! I especially love the blue flowy dress and tan hand bag. One of my faves … with my ultimate fave being Sequins in the Snow. I know, that was Winter but, still a classic! Just like you! Simple stunning looks Lorna!

Thank you so much, Frank! I’m so glad you love them all, I really am! That blue dress is very pretty, I find it elegant and sophisticated, while still remaining youthful and feminine!

Thank you! For my images that I’ve shared in the last 2-3 years it’s a Nikon DSLR D610 and a 85mm Prime Lens. Before that it was a D7000 Nikon. Hope that helps!

    Hi Lorna!

How are you? I hope you’re well.

It’s delightful to see this post, and remember some of the striking summer looks you’ve shown on your blog over the years. Your sense of style has definitely become more sophisticated with time. It’s lovely to see the gradual transformation in your years of blogging.

I love and remember all the summer looks, apart from some very early ones when you’re still a baby-faced youngster! You still look very youthful now, just a little more grown-up.

I adore the black dress with the mesh overlay and embroidered cactus print. I seem to recall that you didn’t get to keep that dress, but borrowed it for the photo shoot. I thought that was such a shame, as it suited you so much. I also love the blush pink dress with embroidered flowers that was shot near a barn I think, and the baby blue shorter dress with the stripes going across it in the same shade.

You look stunning in all the looks. You mentioned recently that you have a photo shoot planned. I’m excited to see your upcoming summer looks as well!

    Lots of love Saba xx

Thank you so much, Saba! I really appreciate that, and it’s always good to see how long you have been following me for on my blog! That’s incredible that you remember all of these, except for the one with my baby face, ha ha.

You are right, I didn’t get to keep that dress, it was by For Love And Lemons. I was sad at first, but then I thought to myself that it’s probably a good thing. It’s such a statement piece that I probably wouldn’t have had much opportunity to wear it. And, it wouldn’t fit me now because I was a lot smaller back then. I do love the blue short dress though, that still fits! The embroidered dress by the barn, I didn’t get to keep that one either as I noticed it was damaged and missing a button, and there wasn’t a replacement!

My photoshoot is actually today, Sunday, so I’ve got a lot of looks planned! I can’t wait to share them! xx.

It’s an absolute pleasure Lorna! It’s impressive how much time and effort you’ve put into your blog over the years, always coming up with a variety of looks that manage to still feel fresh and original. I can imagine that must be challenging, as most people have a signature style, and it’s hard to keep coming up with original looks that continue to inspire. But you’ve continued to deliver and found new ways to be creative.

I can understand what you said about wanting a classic dress you can wear time and again. When a piece is very distinctive and recognisable, people tend to notice when the look is repeated.

It’s fantastic that you’re shooting some new looks today. The weather is set to be good. I wish you lots of luck and I can’t wait to see the results!

        Xx

It didn’t end up being very good here in Bath, lol. It was on and off rain and so humid, my hair was mostly frizzy! Ha ha.

But thank you for the compliments, Saba! I really appreciate that, you are right though, it is hard when you have a signature style and you need to come up with different looks all the time, it can be challenging, which is why I think a lot of my looks end up in a similar style, but different because of mixing other elements in. It’s a fun challenge, but sometimes I’m not in the mood, ha ha.

Oh I didn’t know you had the Rebecca Minkoff mini MAB tote! isn’t it the cutest! 🙂 You have had great outfits but I was mostly admiring the bags in these pics, haha! You know me! 🙂 It’s always fun to look back and see how our style has changed, I’m thankful for my blog so I can do that 🙂

Yes! That’s one of the reasons I am thankful for my blog too, it serves as a photo diary in a way, and a great way to document the growth! I have both the Mini MAB in a purple and a burgundy, they are such cute bags! 😀

The white skinny jeans and the denim shorts, wow! Still knock my socks off, Lorna. I know you have a wide variety of looks, but those casual looks too my list and catch my eye the quickest. You’re looking more fabulous with each shoot, and I love keeping a long distance eye on you from across the pond. 😉
