The Checked Burberry Scarf Outfit

Oversized Burberry Scarf With A White Borg Coat

Can you believe that September is almost upon us? This year has been one of the fastest years I have ever experienced. I know that’s due to Coronavirus and being in lock down for most of it, and everything still not fully being back to normal, but it’s still shocking how fast it’s gone. Summer is pretty much over, if this current weather is anything to go by, and I’m looking forward to wearing my Autumn clothes again! Things of course will be a little different now though since Adam and I aren’t working together anymore, so we will see how my photos turn out going forward.

Speaking of Autumn though, here’s a set of photos that I held back from March! I was wearing my Topshop White Borg Coat, that I purchased in January and absolutely adore! I layered it over one of my cream coloured roll neck sweaters, and went with my basic L’AGENCE Margot Skinny Jeans in Graphite. I know, you guys are gonna be sick of these soon, ha ha! I swear by them though, and live in them, so I recommend them (click here to buy them) as the best black skinny! Now getting to the brown accents and what I think pulls the outfit together, I went with my brown Sam Edelman Boots, and finished it off with this gorgeous Burberry Oversized Checked Cashmere Scarf.

I actually purchased this scarf in London back in October, and I think it complements my skin tone and style perfectly! I couldn’t love it more if I tried! When I first saw it in the boutique on New Bond Street, I fell in love with it and wouldn’t stop trying it on. It’s one of those colour combinations that’s stunning in person, and blends harmoniously. You will be seeing it a lot more as the days get cooler, that’s for sure! Since most of the items I love to wear are in the brown palette, it’s going to match my Celine Nano Luggage bag, my Louis Vuitton Palm Springs Backpack and a certain new purchase of a pair of boots that I may, or may not, have done recently! Ha ha! I will keep you informed! Anyway, please do let me know what you think of this look! And you can purchase similar pieces with the image links below! Lorna xx.

P.S. – For those of you who don’t follow me on Instagram, I recently cut all my hair off and dyed it blonde… So it’s quite the change! You can see it in my story highlights by clicking here, or you can wait until I share it in a new blog post sometime soon!

You’re looking great in that outfit there Laura and very apt now it’s autumn. Love the jacket, it looks so good. Those jeans are great on you and always will, but how do you keep them looking so good? I’ve read you should wash jeans or do so as a bare minimum. Can you share your washing and care tips please?

Virtual hugs and love to you xx

Hi Russ! I’m gonna take the spelling of Laura as a typo, since I’m Lorna 😛 Ha ha.
I rarely wash my jeans at all, if I can get away with not washing them, then I wont. You read correctly that it’s best not to wash them as it can damage the jeans, so that’s how I keep them looking so good! When it is time to wash them though, I wash them inside out on cool, gentle, and hang dry! Hope that helps! Virtual hugs back!

        Hi Lorna

I’m so sorry for the typo, but I’m blaming my iPhone. The amount of times it changes words when I hit send is ridiculous.

Thanks for the advice on denim care, I pretty much follow the same regime as you. I have lots of jeans and some I’ve never washed as I don’t want their new look to go in terms of colour or fit. Black jeans are especially vulnerable to fading even when I use detergent designed for blacks.

I read it’s an idea to put them in the freezer to kill any bacteria but since mine is small I’ve yet to manage it. Maybe the jeans need to be on a sealed bag? Have you ever tried that?

        Thanks again

        More virtual hugs

        Russ xx

          Hi Russ!

No worries, ha ha. It happens to me all the time! Black jeans are the worst for fading, it’s terrible! A lot of brands have brought out stay black type of jeans, but I haven’t washed them to experience if it works.

For the freezer technique, you would fold them and put them in a bag like a zip lock style bag, then place them in the freezer. I have read some articles from scientists which actually said this doesn’t really work for killing bacteria, so I have no idea if it’s a good idea or not, ha ha. Bacteria can only live on surfaces for a short period of time anyway though from what I know? So if there’s any on there, it will probably die off within a short space of time? Might be worth researching more!

Love the brown scarf and boots together, such a cute neutral outfit on you and even though you wore it earlier this year it does look perfect for autumn! 🙂 It’s warming up here, I’m excited for spring, we’ve already been able to shed the layers a little as it’s been a warmer end to winter.

Hope you had a great weekend! 🙂

Thank you, Mica 😀 I’m so happy you like the outfit on me! It is perfect for right now given that the temperatures are changing and it’s approaching Autumn. It’s always weird to me when I hear other people are going into Summer, ha ha 🙂

You look stunning as always Lorna. I can see why you adore the scarf, it looks so cosy! I love the light in your pictures, and you captured some really lovely ones.

Now would be the ideal time for you to start taking your own pictures, using a tripod and remote control, or even self-timer. As I recall you use a Nikon, and if you check, you might find it’s compatible for use with a remote control. You can just experiment on your own to begin with, that way you’ve got nothing to lose! It may feel a bit strange at first, but with practise I’m sure you’d like the independence it gives you.

I hope you’re having a fab week so far.

    Lots of love Saba xx

Hi Saba! Unfortunately I don’t think a tripod would work for me as I love to capture more in the moment shots, especially walking ones, and you can’t really focus properly on a tripod when you’re walking, so I will figure something out 🙂 Thanks for the tips though! I’m so glad you love the photos and the vibe of them too! I hope you’re having a lovely week too 🙂 xx.

I can see why you’d prefer to have a photographer to capture a sense of movement and more candid moments. Depending on the environment you’re shooting in, I still think it’s possible to capture good quality images on your own, it just takes some getting used to. It also depends on personal preference. Moving forward, I’m certain you will come up with an effective plan to have your outfit photos taken.

        Xx

Yeah, we each have our own personal preference, but don’t worry, I’m figuring things out going forward, so we will see how it all goes! Thanks so much for your lovely comments as always, Saba!
