Christen and I in his car.
I’ve officially been in the United States, specifically Ohio, for 19 days now! I can’t believe it’s almost 3 weeks! I go back home in 2 and a half weeks, and there’s still so much that I want to do and see. I’m splitting my photo diary into about 3 different blog posts because there’s so much to share, so here’s part one, which compiles some of the snaps I took from the first 2 weeks. I don’t want to write too much text as it’s quite picture heavy, so I will just put a few little captions underneath each pic.
So far though, after arriving here from Croatia, I’m having a wonderful time and experiencing so much! I’ve already been to Walmart, Kroger, Meijer, Bob Evans, Fizoli’s, Chipotle, Circle K, Old Navy, American Eagle, Wendy’s, McDonald’s, Taco Bell, Kohl’s, Texas Roadhouse and so much more! The scenery is amazing here too! The sky is stunning in the evenings, everything is so big and open spaced, the cars are on the wrong side of the road… Ha ha.
I love the USA and everyone is so friendly! As you know from my previous post though, I’m staying here with Christen, and meeting him when I arrived into Columbus, Ohio airport was so surreal. I met a lovely lady on the second flight from Newark to Columbus, and she took our photo as I arrived. When I was in Newark airport in New Jersey, I got to see the New York skyline out of the window, and that was pretty incredible! I can’t wait to share more in my next posts! If you have any questions for me, please let me know in the comments below. Lorna xx.

I can’t believe you’re in Columbus, Lorna! I live in Cleveland and went to school at Ohio State. Suffice it to say, I never thought you’d end up in my neck of the woods. Looks like you’re enjoying your trip! Stay safe!

I love Bob Evans’ breakfasts! Had a few in Indianapolis on my many visits there. Next time you’re in the States, see if you can find a Ruby Tuesday restaurant. First visited one in 2004, coincidentally in Ohio. Asked at the desk of the motel I was staying at if there was somewhere I could sit down and use a knife and fork rather than all the fast food joints they have. There was a Ruby’s about a quarter of a mile from the hotel. The steak is to die for… Suffice to say that I’ve frequented the chain in Indianapolis, Kissimmee & New York on subsequent visits! You won’t regret it!
