The Magic Of Microneedling For Better Skin

The Magic of Microneedling for better Skin

Microneedling, also known as collagen induction therapy, is a popular skin treatment that has gained widespread popularity in recent years. This non-invasive procedure involves using a small device with tiny needles to create small punctures in the skin, stimulating collagen production and helping to reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, and other imperfections, and let me tell you, it really does work!

How does microneedling work?

Microneedling works by creating tiny punctures in the skin using a device called a dermaroller or a microneedling pen. These punctures stimulate the skin’s natural healing process, which leads to the production of new collagen and elastin fibers. Collagen is an essential protein that gives our skin its structure, firmness, and elasticity. As we age, our bodies produce less collagen, which can lead to wrinkles and sagging skin. Microneedling helps to stimulate collagen production, which can help to improve the overall texture and appearance of your skin. It’s pretty cool, right?

What are the benefits of microneedling?

Microneedling has numerous benefits for the skin. Here are some of the most significant benefits:

Reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles: Microneedling stimulates collagen production, which can help to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Improves skin texture and tone: Microneedling can help to improve the overall texture and tone of your skin, making it smoother and more even.

Reduces the appearance of acne scars: Microneedling can help to reduce the appearance of acne scars by stimulating collagen production – this is what I use it for.

Increases the effectiveness of skincare products: Microneedling can help to increase the effectiveness of skincare products by creating tiny channels in the skin, allowing products to penetrate deeper. This is true as I used a dermaroller in the past for many months and my skincare products afterwards would penetrate so well!

Improves the appearance of stretch marks: Microneedling can help to improve the appearance of stretch marks by stimulating collagen production.

Is microneedling painful?

Many people are concerned about the pain associated with microneedling. While everyone’s pain tolerance is different, most people find microneedling to be tolerable. The needles used during microneedling are very small, and the procedure is typically performed using a numbing cream to minimise discomfort. I have numbing cream on my face first, so it is definitely tolerable. After the procedure, your skin may feel slightly tender and appear red for a day or two, but this is normal and should resolve quickly.

How often should you get microneedling?

The frequency of microneedling treatments depends on several factors, including your skin type, the severity of your skin concerns, and the depth of the microneedling treatment. In general, most people benefit from a series of three to six treatments spaced four to six weeks apart. After your initial treatment series, you can maintain your results with periodic touch-up treatments as needed.

In conclusion, microneedling is an effective and non-invasive skin treatment that can help to improve the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, stretch marks, and other imperfections. The procedure works by stimulating collagen production, which can help to improve the overall texture and tone of your skin. If you are considering microneedling, it’s essential to find a qualified provider who can help you determine the best treatment plan for your unique skin concerns. With proper care and maintenance, microneedling can help you achieve smoother, more youthful-looking skin. Finding a luxurious aesthetic clinic is no problem as there are plenty to choose from. Always look for a CQC verification and ensure the aesthetics clinic you choose offers a consultation prior to treatment.

My Own Experience With Microneedling

I’ve had about 3 sessions of microneedling myself, to get rid of my acne scars, and it’s really tolerable. It does feel a bit sore on the forehead and wherever you have a bony area, however, it doesn’t hurt for long, but it does make my eyes water on the forehead. The cheeks are totally fine, and the aftercare is easy. You just use basic and simple products, no actives, for about a week or so, until the skin heals up. It can flake and peel a bit, and the redness lasts for a few days, but it’s an amazing treatment.

Your skin just improves as the weeks go by! I got my microneedling done here in Bath, however you can also get microneedling in Manchester, London, Liverpool, Bristol… all over the country and the world. It’s a super popular treatment! If you have acne scars like me, I highly recommend it! I’m also having glycolic peels monthly at the moment, as I haven’t had microneedling in a while, but I need to go back to it. Have you ever heard of microneedling? Or do you plan on having any sessions?

I know you mentioned that it’s not too painful, but the idea of all those needles even with numbing cream makes me think it would be too much for me, haha! I have very sensitive skin too so suspect it would take a long time for the redness to go away!

You don’t really know they’re there! They’re inside the pen and I think they’re less than 2mm in length, so they’re super super tiny! Ha ha. I know it does look scary though!
