Simple Hair Tips to Look Great Every Day

Simple Hair Tips to Look Great Every Day

Having shiny, bouncy hair or a great hairdo instantly gives you the extra boost you need to face the day, right? After all, one of your most noticeable attributes is your hair; when kept properly, it completely enhances your style and self-confidence. I know this first hand!

If you think only expensive salon visits can give you great hair however, that’s not true! Instead, maintaining a certain hair care routine and learning simple tips is enough to look great daily. You will find some simple tips for easy hair care in this blog post and they’re incredibly handy!

Strategic Washing and Regular Conditioning

While washing your hair after long intervals might result in buildup and an oily look, washing it too frequently can deplete it of its natural oils! I highly recommend that if you have oily hair, wash it every one to two days, wash your normal hair every two to three days, and wash it once or twice a week if your hair is dry or textured. Instead of washing the ends of your hair, you must concentrate on cleaning the scalp to keep the tips from becoming too dry. My hair is really thick and the ends get dry, but the roots get greasy, so I’ve taken to tying it up midweek and just washing the scalp for a refresh.

Remember that conditioner is a must to have nourished, silky, and shining hair; however, to reduce oiliness, apply it from the mid-lengths to the ends, avoiding the roots altogether! And before you rinse it out, let your hair soak in the beneficial ingredients of the conditioner for a few minutes.

Use These Tools For Quick Styling

Purchasing the appropriate hair styling tools makes your styling process much easier, so I have created a short list of styling tools that you can check out for help in the styling department. Use a blow drier to add volume to your hair and speed up the drying, but always choose one with heat settings that may be adjusted properly. Some really good versions have ions that keep the hair smooth too. When it comes to other heat tools, you can use a flat iron to create delicate waves or sleek, straight styles, but to produce beachy waves or well-defined curls, use a curling iron instead. Airwraps are also perfect for the volumised waves as I’ve recently found out!

Buy the Right Styling Products for You

Knowing your hair type is the first step while shopping for hair styling products because different hair types need specific products for ultimate styling! For example, fine hair requires light-textured products to prevent flat hair, yet curly and wavy hair frequently benefit from additional moisture to avoid frizz! Trust me; it makes a big difference to your hair when you use the right shampoo and conditioner and styling products appropriate for your hair type.

Another thing is to steer clear of products that include alcohol and harsh sulfates since they can remove your hair’s natural oils and, as a result, leave it brittle and dry. For coloured hair, always use colour-safe products to keep your hair vibrant! Remember, using too many styling products can cause buildup and make your hair feel heavy, even if they can improve the appearance, so avoid using too much product at once and limit yourself to a few basics that work for your hair type perfectly.

Get Regular Trims

Getting regular trims is essential to maintain the perfect appearance of your hair because, without trims, the split ends become visible and give you a messy look. Trust me, I’ve been there because I’ve just not been bothered to trim my hair when it was long. To promote hair growth, you should go for a trim every six to eight weeks, but if you have short hair or a fringe/bangs, you probably need a trim every four weeks. The health of your hair changes dramatically when you get it cut.

Use Different Styling Process for Different Hair Types

You must learn to work with your hair’s natural texture instead of using straighteners or curling irons daily for the best results. Purchase styling products to accentuate your original hair texture, and always avoid viral hairstyle trends if they are not for your hair texture.

If you have straight hair, use a mousse or spray that lifts the roots, and to add dimension, try a layered cut! Similarly, for wavy hair, use a curl-defining serum or mousse to accentuate your natural waves, and you can also use a diffuser for extra definition, or let it air dry for a more natural appearance. To define curls and minimise frizz, apply a gel or lotion that enhances the curls, and always use a wide-tooth comb for brushing.

With the right hair styling products and tools, having shiny, gorgeous, and healthy hair is easy! Just learn the basics of hair texture, which product suits which hair type, and follow a few hairstyling tips. That’s it! You will see the difference in your appearance in a day!
